In an unfolding and embarrassing case for Waco (which, let’s be honest, could use a little good press) Downtown Waco Inc. has shutdown following revelations of financial misdeeds. Downtown Waco, Inc. was an agency funded largely by the city supposed to be dedicated to the revival of the downtown Waco area which has never really recovered from the 1953 Waco tornado. Instead, large sums of money seem to have been used for the personal enjoyment of executive director, Margaret Mills.
